Extra Heavy Duty Wheels
Wheel 200 mm
The Novatech wheel is a precision-engineered castor component manufactured from cast iron with a polyurethane, casted tread measuring 80 mm in width. This wheel features a diameter of 200 mm and is designed with a hub length of 92 mm, accommodating an axle hole diameter of 25 mm. The wheel is equipped with a precision ball bearing to ensure smooth operation across a diverse range of applications including airport equipment, AMR systems, automated shuttle systems, automotive OEM, ceramic and glass manufacturers, container construction, fire fighting technology, forklift trucks, AGV systems, machine construction, post logistic systems, production and platform trolleys, and transport equipment. The static load capacity reaches 3360 kg, whilst the dynamic load capacity is rated at 1400 kg at 6 km/h or 1680 kg at 4 km/h, providing reliable performance in demanding industrial environments.
Advantages of Extra Heavy Duty Castor Wheels
Extra heavy duty wheels are engineered for demanding applications where each wheel must reliably support over 1,500 kg while starting, rolling, and steering predictably shift after shift. Our wheels are built with reinforced materials and robust components, ensuring long-lasting performance even in the toughest environments. To maximise performance, pair the wheel with an equally rated castor housing, and ensure the axle/hub concept and floor conditions are correctly matched. TENTE extra heavy duty castor wheels provide a variety of key advantages:
Extra High Load Capacities – Wheel bodies, hubs, treads, and bearing concepts are engineered to carry extreme weights without excessive deformation. Final permissible load depends on the complete castor system and correct mounting – both are critical to achieve rated capacity and stability.
Optimised Durability – Robust components resist wear from rough floors, thresholds, and stop-start duty cycles. Where shock loads are present, appropriate bearing choices help preserve performance over time.
Increased Lifecycle Value – Bearings with protective sealing options and suitable lubrication help retain smooth running between maintenance intervals, supporting uptime. The combination of long wear life and easier movement contributes to a lower total cost of ownership in demanding applications.
Types of Extra Heavy Duty Wheels
Extra Heavy Duty Polyurethane Wheels
Extra heavy duty polyurethane wheels deliver very low rolling resistance and high wear resistance under constant loads. They are well suited for long runs, repeated start–stop cycles, and smooth industrial floors. One example for extra heavy duty polyurethane wheels is our FTP series. They combine a casted polyurethane tread, with a cast iron wheel body, and a precision ball bearing. FTP wheels come in a variety of diameters, with the smallest one capable of statically handling over 1500 kg being 150 mm . In their largest configuration (500 mm), they are capable of statically handling loads of up to 8000 kg per wheel – that's 4000 kg at 4 km/h and 4800 kg at 6 km/h.
Extra Heavy Duty Polyamide Wheels
Extra heavy duty polyamide wheels are selected when maximum carrying capacity and dimensional stability take precedence over floor protection and acoustic comfort. Polyamide tolerates very high loads and delivers a hard, precise running surface. However, users should expect higher surface pressure and louder travel compared with softer materials. Within our selection, MOP wheels stand out as a notable example. They combine a robust full polyamide wheel body and tread with a precision ball bearing. Wheel diameters range from 100 mm to 400 mm, with different hub diameters being available. In its largest configuration, MOP wheels are capable of handling static loads of up to 9000 kg per wheel.
Fields of Application for Extra Heavy Duty Castor Wheels
Extra heavy duty castor wheels are relied on wherever extreme payloads, long duty cycles, and precise manoeuvring are essential. In intralogistics and distribution, they support heavy transport solutions and high-throughput flows in hardware dealer operations. In machinery and workshop applications such as machine construction, container construction, and transport equipment they withstand rough floors and frequent stop-start cycles. Automotive uses range from production and platform trolleys to automotive OEM environments, where predictable control and high load ratings keep material flows on time – secured by pairing each wheel with a suitably rated castor housing and bearing concept for the specific application.
