What are rubber tyres?
Rubber tyres are used on transport equipment, fork lifts and more.
Rubber tyres, also known as solid rubber tyres, are made of different elastomers and are available in different versions, for example cylindrical or conical. Steel tape and wire mesh are used for the base model, for example.
The tyres are predominantly used in industrial applications, e.g. for heavy transport equipment and industrial trucks, fork lifts or trailers with a speed of up to 20 km/h.
Properties of the rubber tyres
Tyres made of elastic solid rubber are characterised by their high load capacity, outstanding drive comfort and ease of operation. At the same time, they are very abrasion-resistant and thus gentle to floors. Since the tyres have no profile, they pick up fewer foreign bodies. They have comparatively less cushioning, however, which is why they are best used on flat, even floors. The rubber is resistant to temperatures of -20°C to +85°C and is therefore suitable for many applications. The load-bearing capacity of the rubber tyres is tested according to DIN EN 12532 at a speed of 4 km/h or according to DIN EN 12533 at a speed of 6 km/h.
