Frequently Asked Questions
Advantages of Heat Resistant Wheels
Heat resistant wheels are engineered to keep equipment mobile in sustained or intermittent heat. With temperature-stable materials and components, they retain strength, geometry, and manoeuvrability where conventional wheels would soften or deform. From bakery lines and autoclaves to thermal processes in manufacturing, they combine durability, efficiency, and safety in demanding environments. TENTE high temperature wheels offer various benefits:
Thermal Integrity and Consistent Mobility – Purpose-built wheel compounds and heat-rated components limit deformation and flat-spotting at elevated temperatures. The result is predictable rolling behaviour and dependable guidance through heating and cooling cycles.
Operational Efficiency – By maintaining stable movement in ovens, bakeries, commercial kitchens, and other hot areas, high temperature wheels reduce the likelihood of wheel-related stoppages. This supports smoother workflows and helps protect both operators and goods.
Smooth, Predictable Mobility – Heat resistant wheels do not compromise on smooth rolling characteristics. Heat-stable tread compounds, precision bearings, and temperature-rated lubricants help keep push/pull forces low and minimise stick–slip during thermal cycles.
Types of Heat Resistant Wheels
TENTE offers different options of heat resistant wheels, engineered to operate reliably at elevated temperatures of up to +280 °C. Selecting the most suitable variant requires a holistic view of the application: floor conditions, size, and the required load per wheel. Equally important is the castor housing, which governs the system’s overall load rating, lateral stability, and service life.
IDG High Temperature Wheels
TENTE IDG wheels are purpose-built heat resistant castor wheels for hot processes. An aluminium wheel centre with a heat resisting silicone rubber tread and self-lubricating bushing delivers stable geometry and damping at temperature, with a specified range of –30 °C to +250 °C; short exposures of up to +310 °C ambient for 5 minutes are permissible provided the tread itself does not exceed 250 °C. In practice, that makes IDG an excellent choice when you need high temperature wheels for ovens, autoclaves, or bake lines, while still maintaining predictable rolling behaviour during heat–cool cycles. For hygiene or steam-rich environments, pair the wheel with an appropriately rated stainless (washable) housing to complete a high temperature castor wheel system.
BOG High Temperature Wheels
TENTE BOG wheels are engineered specifically for high-temperature service. The wheel body is a heat-resistant, thermosetting plastic with a dry (self-lubricating) bearing bush, rated for continuous exposure from –40 °C to +280 °C. In practice, that makes BOG a robust choice for ovens, autoclaves, and hot process lines where heat resistant castor wheels must retain geometry and rolling characteristics. BOG wheels are available in either 80 mm or 100 mm wheel diameters. For a complete high temperature castor wheel solution, pair BOG with a housing, axle and lubricants that are temperature-rated to the same range to preserve load rating and service life.
WOG High Temperature Wheels
WOG heat resistant castor wheels are purpose-built for steam sterilisation, using a heat-resistant synthetic thermoplastic with a plain bearing. WOG wheels provide reliable mobility between –40 °C to +200 °C. The series is available with a 75 mm wheel diameter with two different hub lengths, suited to autoclaves and other hygiene-critical environments that demand non-deforming, washable wheels.
IOG High Temperature Aluminium Wheels
IOG high temperature wheels use an aluminium wheel body and tread with a dry bearing bush and are specified for continuous use from −40 °C up to +280 °C. Available with 100 mm diameter and 35 mm tread width, providing a load capacity of 125 kg per wheel, making it a compact option for hot-zone handling where metal wheel stability is preferred.
Fields of Application for Heat Resistant Wheels
Heat resistant wheels are selected wherever elevated temperatures are part of daily operations. Typical uses include bakery lines, commercial kitchens, food production equipment that enters ovens or runs past heated surfaces, and autoclaves in hygiene-critical processes. In manufacturing, they equip trolleys, racks, and transport carts that pass through curing, drying, or paint ovens without sacrificing mobility or permissible load. Our high temperature wheels are also rated for sub-zero operation, making them suitable for routes that transition between hot zones and cold storage, provided the wheel–housing package is specified accordingly; depending on model, TENTE high temperature wheels cover ranges of roughly –40/–30 °C up to +200–280 °C.
