Levelling Castors
Frequently Asked Questions
Advantages of Levelling Castors
Levelling castors are a hybrid mobility solution designed for applications that must be mobile during use yet remain completely stable when stationary. Unlike standard castors, these units integrate a built-in levelling foot that can be manually adjusted to provide secure, vibration-free positioning and compensate for uneven floor surfaces. This makes them particularly suitable for applications that require occasional re-positioning but are mostly stationary – such as machinery and workshop equipment, like workbenches or tool cabinets - eliminating the need for additional transport devices to move and reposition heavy machines and furniture. Available in different sizes and load capacities, levelling castors help bridge the gap between flexibility and stability, supporting safe, ergonomic, and reliable use.
At TENTE, we have been partnering with G-DOK for several years now to provide our customers with the highest quality levelling castors. G-DOK is an established brand in the market and has a high quality standard regarding its own products and its cooperation partners. In this cooperation we operate with products from G-DOK's own brand "FOOT MASTER®".
Foot Master® levelling castors offer various benefits:
Secure and Stable Stand - Once the application has been moved into the desired position, the integrated levelling foot is lowered to lift the castor off the ground. This creates a firm, vibration-damped stand that ensures absolute stability during stationary use — even on uneven surfaces.
Easy Height Adjustment - Adjustable height levelling castors make it possible to precisely level and stabilise an application without the need for additional tools. The foot can be raised or lowered manually, making it quick and intuitive to compensate for floor irregularities or achieve ergonomic working heights.
Enhanced Durability - Constructed from hardened steel and wear-resistant materials, Foot Master® levelling castors are built to withstand demanding use. This not only extends the product’s service life, but also results in improved swivel performance, even under load or in high-frequency mobility environments.
Certified Conductivity - Foot Master® levelling castors are available as conductive versions to protect users and electrical devices from electrostatic discharge.
Types of Levelling Castors
Foot Master® levelling castors offer a precise balance of mobility and stability through their integrated adjustable foot. Available in multiple configurations, they are designed to meet diverse mounting needs while ensuring optimal performance for stationary and mobile applications alike. Depending on the requirements of your application, these castors are offered with either a plate fitting or a bolt hole. Each mounting solution brings its own functional advantages — from compact integration and simple installation to higher load capacity. Below are the main types of levelling castors in our range and their specific benefits.
Plate Fitting Levelling Castors
At TENTE we offer different Foot Master® levelling castors product series, four of which come with a plate fitting – namely, GD F, GDN F, GDR F, and SGDN F. Plate fitting levelling castors are designed for applications where a wide, stable connection to the base structure is required. The flat mounting plate distributes load evenly across the surface, making this type particularly suitable for heavier applications. Their robust design ensures secure fastening and higher load capacity, while the integrated levelling foot enables precise height adjustment and vibration-free stability during stationary use. The strongest Foot Master® levelling castor featuring a plate fitting is the GD F series. Equipped with a 90 mm wheel, this castor is capable of handling loads of up to 1500 kg per each.
Bolt Hole Fitting Levelling Castors
Thre of the Foot Master® levelling castors product series in our portfolio offer a bolt hole mounting – namely, the GD S, GDN S, and GDR S series. Bolt hole levelling castors are equipped with a central mounting hole in the castor housing, allowing them to be securely fastened to the application using a single bolt. This mounting style offers a compact, space-saving solution, making it ideal for applications with limited mounting surfaces or where discreet integration is a priority. Just like the plate fitting levelling castors, the height can be adjusted quickly and precisely, by turning the adjusting wheel or ratchet, without the need for additional tools.
Fields of Application for Adjustable Levelling Castors
Levelling castors are the ideal solution for applications where stable positioning, vibration damping, and occasional mobility are all required. Their integrated foot allows the wheel to be lifted off the floor, ensuring a secure and level stand for sensitive equipment — even on uneven surfaces. This combination of mobility and rigidity makes them highly versatile across a wide range of industries.
In industrial production environments, levelling castors are used to reposition machines, devices, and technical stations, allowing for flexible setup and simplified maintenance. Their ability to provide a stable base after relocation improves safety and process reliability. Within the medical sector, they support the movement and secure placement of diagnostic equipment, treatment devices, and workstations. The ability to lock equipment in place after transport enhances safety and convenience for both staff and patients. In workshops and garages, levelling castors make it easier to move tool trolleys, support frames, and heavy-duty components, facilitating ergonomic access and precise alignment during service or assembly tasks. Warehouses and logistics operations benefit from their use on transport units and packing stations, where equipment must occasionally be repositioned but remain steady during operation. In offices, they allow for the ergonomic setup of desks, adjustable workstations, and mobile fixtures, ensuring both flexibility and stability in dynamic environments.
