Cone Ball Bearing Castors
Aviana
The Aviana swivel castor with central, total lock features a rectangular plate with brake elements fitting system for secure mounting and operational control. The housing is constructed from durable polyamide material and incorporates two ball races for the swivel bearing mechanism, ensuring smooth rotational movement under load. The wheel assembly comprises a polypropylene body with thermoplastic rubber tread material, providing excellent grip and floor protection, whilst the cone ball bearing in stainless steel construction delivers reliable performance and corrosion resistance. With a wheel diameter of 75 mm, the castor has an overall height of 102 mm, making it suitable for compact applications. Load specifications include a dynamic capacity of 100 kg at speeds up to 3 km/h and a static load capacity of 200 kg, making it ideal for inflight trolleys where reliable mobility and secure locking are essential requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Advantages of Cone Ball Bearing Castors
The choice of wheel bearing plays a critical role in the overall quality and performance of a castor, alongside the housing material, tread material, wheel diameter and other variables. Cone ball bearings deliver smooth, reliable rolling under load and can be tailored to meet the demands of a wide variety of applications. Cone ball bearing castors stand out for their unique combination of performance, adjustability, and maintainability.
TENTE castors with cone ball bearing offer various benefits:
Fully Replaceable Bearing – Unlike other wheel bearings, the conical ball bearing design in TENTE castors is detachable, allowing the bearing to be replaced if necessary to extend the service life of the castor.
Adjustable for Wear Compensation – If natural wear causes axial or radial play, the bearing can be readjusted simply by tightening the axle screw connection. This ensures optimal rolling performance is maintained over time.
High Precision and Smooth Rolling – The conical arrangement of the rolling elements provides stable, smooth rolling under load, improving handling and reducing operator effort across a variety of applications.
Types of Cone Ball Bearing Castors
Cone ball bearing castors are available with a variety of locking mechanisms and fitting options, in different wheel materials, sizes, and housing configurations, each tailored to specific performance requirements. While all variants share the advantage of a replaceable and adjustable wheel bearing, the choice of wheel type allows you to fine-tune rolling characteristics, durability, and environmental compatibility for your application. Below are two of the commonly used cone ball bearing castors.
Cone Ball Bearing Swivel Castors
Swivel cone ball bearing castors combine the precision and longevity of an adjustable, replaceable cone ball bearing with the full manoeuvrability of a swivel housing. This pairing is particularly valuable in environments where equipment must change direction frequently and smoothly. When matched with suitable wheel materials, these castors can be tailored to a wide range of operating environments. One example for a swivel castor using a cone ball wheel bearing is our TENTE Agila series. It comes equipped with a pressed steel housing, is available with all fitting options – plate, bolt hole, expander, and stem fitting – and can be configured with either a total lock, a directional lock, or a wheel brake. Different wheel options – non-marking or electrically conductive – and wheel sizes cater to different needs.
Small Cone Ball Bearing Castors
Small cone ball bearing castors deliver the same precision, adjustability, and replaceability as their larger counterparts, but in a more compact form. Their reduced wheel diameter and housing size make them ideal for applications where space is limited or where the equipment must remain low to the ground. Despite their size, the cone ball bearing ensures smooth, controlled rolling with the added benefit of being adjustable to eliminate axial or radial play caused by wear. One example from our range is Agila twin. These castors impress with an overall height of just 69 mm in their smallest configuration. Agila twin features a pressed steel housing and is available with bolt hole, plate, or stem fitting options. Additionally, it can be configured with a wheel brake, a total lock, or a central total lock.
Fields of Application for Castors with Cone Ball Bearing
Cone ball bearing castors are chosen for applications where precision, stability, and long service life are essential. Thanks to their adjustable and replaceable bearing design, they maintain consistent performance even after prolonged use, making them an excellent choice for equipment that must remain reliable in daily operation. Regardless of the sector, cone ball bearing castors provide a versatile and long-lasting mobility solution that can be fine-tuned to meet specific operational requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency throughout their lifespan. These castors are commonly used in medical environments for healthcare furniture applications. They are also well suited for professional furniture applications, as well as professional cleaning carts. Our castors with cone ball bearings are not particularly suitable for heavy duty applications, as their load capacity ranges between 40 kg and 100 kg per castor, depending on the series and configuration.
