From a long-standing connection to a strategic partnership – with a new castor concept
The visit of Stefan Fröhlingsdorf, TENTE Group Manager Global Markets, to his close business partner Fernando García Pérez, CEO of Marsanz, at EuroShop 2026 in Düsseldorf was marked by great cordiality. Personal exchange has always been a central element of the long-standing collaboration between the two companies.
For more than 30 years, Marsanz, the internationally established Spanish manufacturer of shopping trolleys and retail equipment systems, has relied on mobility solutions from TENTE. What began as a traditional supplier relationship has developed into a strategic partnership. Both companies share a strong commitment to quality and the ambition to continuously advance mobility solutions for the retail sector.

Levina smart: A solution by TENTE
At EuroShop 2026, Marsanz and TENTE presented themselves to the public together for the first time. At its exhibition stand, Marsanz showcased new shopping trolleys equipped with the Levina smart plastic castor from TENTE. The world’s leading retail trade fair provided the ideal setting for the premiere of this joint project.
In the interview, Fernando García Pérez, CEO of Marsanz, speaks about the importance of selecting the right castor, the focus on customer experience rather than price pressure, and why the partnership with TENTE is strategically decisive for Marsanz.
Interview with Fernando García Pérez, CEO of Marsanz at EuroShop 2026
Fernando García Pérez:
We are a company with more than 60 years of experience. This experience is reflected in the way we solve problems. Our products are built on real expertise — we know what works.
And to make sure our know-how keeps pace with changing market needs, we have invested a lot. We have done extensive research to adapt our way of production to match the needs of the market. I am very happy to see that our existing customers – plus the new customers we are reaching with our way of doing things – recognize the difference. They trust us. They trust our products.
Fernando García Pérez:
For us, choosing the right castor is essential because it directly impacts reliability, durability, and ultimately the customer experience. That’s why we deliberately looked for a partner who shares the same standards — and we identified TENTE as the right choice for what we want to deliver.
When we speak with customers, we don’t start with price. We start by understanding their needs and the experience they want to create. Then we adapt our products to provide the right solution. Customers who are strongly focused on customer experience - for example Lidl- immediately understood why our new trolley concept, combined with the TENTE Levina smart castor, has to be designed this way.
We don’t want to compete on price alone. We want to compete on quality and long-term value. And this is exactly where Levinasmart, together with the Marsanz product, makes the difference — because it delivers performance that lasts.
Fernando García Pérez:
We are all running. We are all under stress. If you add products that reduce noise and stress, that move smoothly and easily, it has a big impact.
But retailers not only think about the customer experience – they also think about their operations. Maintenance is becoming a critical part of their business. Having a solution like Levina smart, which protects against damage and reduces wear, opens new opportunities for large customers who want to be more efficient and improve operational performance.
Fernando García Pérez:
We try to improve day after day in everything we do. To achieve that, we need partners with deep expertise in the components that matter most for a trolley’s performance — especially the castors. That’s exactly why TENTE is such a strong fit for us and why this collaboration is so important.
When you work with a specialist at this level, the benefit is very tangible: smoother handling, lower noise, less wear and fewer maintenance issues over the trolley’s lifetime. In other words, the retailer and the end customer both win. It’s not just a supplier relationship — it’s real cooperation. We can co-create better solutions together.
We are learning a lot from TENTE, and I think we can also help TENTE better understand our business and real-life trolley requirements. That’s why this partnership is so strong for us — strategically, it’s essential.
