The directional locks are mounted on swivel castors and can be controlled by various operating elements, such as pedals.
A swivel castor can normally run in all directions. If the directional lock is activated, the castor is locked in the direction of travel, so that it can only move in the specified direction. This solution makes it much easier to move the castors in a straight line, along narrow corridors and over long distances.
The directional lock also has another advantage: It prevents the castors from oscillating and flapping when travelling at high speeds. Modern product solutions such as the TENTE Linea e-lock offer electronically activated directional locking systems. This system is operated effortlessly via push-buttons, which allow individual control of the castors. The control function can also be integrated into existing operating panels.
