Detailed Scope 3 Calculation at Product Level
The carbon footprint of TENTE’s castors and wheels can now be transparently calculated
The Carbon Footprint of TENTE – What’s Behind It?
Every castor, every wheel – each of our products has a story to tell. And part of that story is its carbon footprint, meaning the amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated during manufacturing, energy use, and both upstream and downstream processes. To better understand and strategically reduce these emissions, they are categorised into three so-called Scopes. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from our own operations, such as gas, diesel, and production. Scope 2 includes indirect emissions from purchased energy, for example electricity or long-distance heating. Scope 3 encompasses all other indirect emissions, such as those arising from raw materials, logistics, and further upstream and downstream activities. This classification helps to clarify responsibilities and enables targeted climate protection measures.
Scope 3 Calculation – Now Product-Specific
An increasing number of our customers need detailed documentation of their climate impact. TENTE now offers advanced Scope 3 calculations at product level, giving you precise insights into your product’s carbon footprint right from the start of the value chain. These calculations focus on identifying and quantifying the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with a product. Using EcoChain Mobius and the internationally recognised EcoInvent database, we calculate high-precision carbon footprints based on the cradle-to-gate approach. This means we analyse the full carbon impact of a product – from raw material extraction to the point when it leaves the factory. Our Scope 3 calculations include raw material extraction, material production, processing, manufacturing and assembly. Each calculation is based on the specific type and quantity of materials used, ensuring a robust and transparent carbon footprint report.
Your Benefit – Why Scope 3 Data Matters to You
Sustainability requirements are rising – driven by ESG regulations, legal reporting obligations, and customer expectations. Our product-specific carbon calculations help you meet these demands effectively by providing reliable carbon data for each product component, creating a solid foundation for sustainability and ESG reports, and supporting you with tenders that include environmental criteria. They also offer greater transparency across your supply chain and form a strong data base for your own climate targets and actions. Our data not only offers valuable insights – it enables real action, turning the carbon footprint from a risk into an opportunity.
How TENTE Advances Climate Action Through Transparency
Our transparent emissions analysis enables us to develop targeted measures to improve environmental performance and take responsibility for a sustainable future. Capturing and reducing the carbon footprint is a key step for TENTE to understand and shape the environmental impact of our value chain in a sustainable way. From raw material extraction to production and logistics, every process contributes to the overall footprint. Our products actively contribute to environmental and resource protection through carbon reduction, durable materials, reduced noise and optimised manufacturing processes, as we rely on high-quality raw materials and technically advanced, eco-friendly designs.
