How does the static load capacity affect castors and wheels?

The static load capacity applies when transport equipment is not moved or is rarely moved. It represents the load that the castors and wheels can withstand under uniform distribution of the load. The static load rating is of particular relevance here: This load rating refers to a load whose weight and direction remains constant. At maximum load, the contact pressure at the centre of the contact area between raceway and rolling element is 4,000 megapascals (MPa). At higher values, rotation is impeded.

Static load capacity of TENTE castors and wheels

Please refer to the product details for the individual castors and wheels. Please note that the load capacity value is calculated for standard operating conditions – i.e. with smooth floors, travel in a straight line and at walking speed, with an even load distribution and at an ambient temperature between 15°C and 28°C. If the transport equipment fitted with TENTE castors and wheels is used in other conditions – for example on uneven floors, at extreme temperatures or with movement in constantly changing directions – then this figure will change.

Static or dynamic

For transport equipment whose castors and wheels are in continuous or frequent motion, the dynamic load capacity is relevant. This value is lower than the static load capacity. It is also important that a safety factor is taken into account when determining the required load capacity.

If you have any questions about dynamic or static load capacity please contact us. We will advise you and help you to find the right castors and wheels for your transport equipment.
